Polaris Square, located at the top of 153 steps in Mohe County, is a landmark building in Mohe County and an indispensable part of the lives of Mohe people.

On the left is a swan spreading its wings as if ready to fly, and on the right is a golden rooster singing loudly, meaning that Mohe is the " crown of the golden rooster and the head of the swan " . The star at the top is the North Star, meaning that Mohe is a shining star in the northern frontier of the motherland.

From May 1st to October 1st, there are large-scale cultural activities held in the square every week. The annual Northern Lights Festival, Ice and Snow Cultural Festival, and the opening ceremony of the International Ice and Snow Car Cross-Country Rally are all held here.
