Coffee Han-Yak-Bang: A Retro Coffee Spot in Euljiro

A coffee shop with a retro vibe, Coffee Han-Yak-Bang (Hyemin-dang), is a hidden gem in Euljiro. It's tucked away in a narrow alley where the walls almost touch, making the entrance hard to find. This spot exudes a hip and trendy atmosphere.

The two establishments face each other: on the left is Coffee Han-Yak-Bang, which sells only coffee, and on the right is Hyemin-dang, which specializes in desserts. The interior evokes the aura of Jongno during the Japanese colonial era. Orders are placed separately—coffee at Coffee Han-Yak-Bang and desserts at Hyemin-dang.

Seating is available on both sides, and as darkness falls and the lights come on, the place takes on a mysterious ambiance. While the drip coffee doesn't stand out in terms of flavor, the real stars of the area are the desserts at Hyemin-dang. The plain fresh chocolate is the best, and the signature Dulce Caramel and Snowy Village are exceptional.

There's also a dessert called Seolbam, which rivals Dulce but was excluded due to its color overlapping with Snowy Village. It contains chestnuts. The interior space isn't very large. Thank you.
