Premium Room at voco Seoul Gangnam by IHG

Visited voco Seoul Gangnam, located along Dosan-daero, right across the entrance of Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station. This hotel features a unique structure with a shared kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, tableware, a sink, a water purifier, and a table for four.

The views are divided between the Garosu-gil direction and the Gangnam Station direction. The Gangnam Station view can be seen from the shared kitchen area, where I took some photos.

I stayed on the 14th floor with a Garosu-gil view. Although the room faces buildings on both sides, you can see Namsan Seoul Tower and catch glimpses of the Han River from the room.

The rooms with Hinoki bathtubs were fully booked, so I stayed in a room of the same size with a shower booth instead. The space where the bathtub would have been is occupied by the shower booth, making the room feel very spacious. There’s even a foldable chair in the middle for seating. The bathroom interior is well-designed, leaving a clean and pleasant impression.

There’s no dedicated study space, so business work is not feasible. Instead of a wardrobe, there’s a metal hanger space that appears when you slide open the door.

Interestingly, the ironing set is fully equipped. The king-size bed is comfortable, and the bedding is cozy. The room also features a sofa bed-sized detachable sofa and a large table.

From the shared kitchen to the spacious table, the hotel’s location makes it a great place to eat and have fun. The proportion of foreign guests is as high as hotels near airports.

While outdoor soundproofing is good, indoor soundproofing is poor. The noise from cleaning other rooms is quite loud. Despite the late checkout option, the environment remains noisy from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Breakfast seems to have been carefully prepared, but the taste is underwhelming. It’s reminiscent of the experience at Holiday Inn Songdo. Egg dishes are only provided upon request.

The front desk staff are cheerful and very friendly. They showed great consideration in accommodating customer needs. The minibar in the room was complimentary and impressively stocked. Thank you!
