Michelin-recommended for eight consecutive years 🏅Raw beef 🥩Live octopus 🐙First time experience

Gwangjang Market is Seoul's largest traditional market. Besides its many traditional snacks and the quilts that have become popular with tourists, it's also known for its raw beef street. Buchon Raw Beef, a restaurant with over 60 years of history, has been a Michelin/Michelin-recommended restaurant for eight consecutive years. They specialize in fresh Korean raw meat, arriving every morning, primarily selling Yamamoto beef 🥩 and live octopus 🐙.

The two branches I visited this time were relatively new and clean. Since they're also popular, you need to pick up your ticket at the entrance.

The food and table turnover are fast, and we were seated quickly.

The raw beef is first seasoned with sesame oil to enhance its aroma. The beef is fresh and tender, and even though it's raw, it doesn't have a bloody smell.

The live octopus looked a little difficult to eat (it kept squirming), but the staff advised you to dip it in sesame oil first, then garnish it with seaweed before eating. It was refreshing and a truly interesting and novel experience!
