Exploring Starbucks 'Gwangjang Market Store' in Korea

Steam from food stalls, rolls of fabric from textile shops, and the aroma of freshly fried bindaetteok. Walking through the bustling streets of Gwangjang Market, you’ll come across a brick wall with an old-style Hangul sign.

And there it is—the green siren logo. Yes, there’s a Starbucks right in the market!

The store is named "Starbucks Gwangjang Market Store," a special store that opened in spring 2025. This is the second Starbucks located within a traditional market in Korea.

The interior design features signs and fabric motifs reminiscent of the market’s history, blending nostalgia with modernity.

The third floor boasts a rooftop terrace, offering a sense of openness!

With approximately 250 seats in total, it’s a great spot to relax 💕

For every purchase made at this store, 300 won is donated to a fund for revitalizing the market, meaning your coffee purchase contributes a little to the market’s future.

Operating hours are from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM. In the morning, it’s easier to find a seat, and at night, the rooftop offers a romantic Starbucks experience.

📍: From Jongno 5-ga Station (Subway Line 1), Exit 8, enter the market and walk through the food stall street. The signboard is your landmark 🪧
