Are you giving up on your trip to Korea because you can't handle spicy food?
Don't worry!!
There are some incredibly delicious, non-spicy foods out there! 😊
My top recommendation is "Chen Yuhwa Halme Original Dakgalbi" in Dongdaemun, a place I've been to countless times!!
This time, I went there for dinner because I had a friend who doesn't like spicy food.
When we were seated, a hot pot with a whole chicken was already there.
(The price is the same for one pot for 2-4 people.)
We waited patiently until the chicken was simmering and ready to eat.
While we were waiting, the sauce was made, and at this point, it could be tailored to suit the tastes of those who want something light, those who don't like spicy food, or those who love spicy food. This makes it a great place for a group of people with different tastes!!
For those who want something lighter: Salt and pepper
For those who don't like spicy food: Soy sauce and vinegar
For those who love spicy food: Wonton, mustard, soy sauce, and vinegar
(The restaurant recommends a 0.5:1:1:1 ratio.)
The simmered chicken broth is rich, so don't forget to enjoy it!
And to finish off the hot pot, we have kalguksu!
We wait patiently for this to boil.
(We couldn't wait long enough, so we had to repeatedly ask the waiter, "Is it ready?" 🤤)
Even though we're always so satisfied with our meal, we're always surprised at how cheap the bill is!
It was my first time visiting in the summer, and the windows were wide open. I ate while sweating, enjoying the air conditioning, the fans installed everywhere, and the occasional natural breeze.
It was a little too hot, so I think winter would be a better time to eat.
We'll definitely return when it's cooler!
