The Aspendos Theater is a large-scale ancient theater that can accommodate over 15,000 people. It is also a great work of Roman art that harmoniously combines the auditorium and the stage. It is a building built by the architect Zeno, the son of Theodore, and is one of the largest theaters built in the 2nd century during the reign of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. It was used for outdoor performances during the Roman era, and is still well preserved as part of the cultural heritage of the Roman era.
The theater is well preserved with almost no damage, so the Aspendos Opera Festival is held here every year.
