Yu Gardens, Shanghai

Yu Gardens are ideal to visit if you want some instagram worthy photos. The old streets beside the garden are free to walk around, filled with lights and Chinese culture. I would recommend visiting at night when the area looks like it comes to life.

Walking through Yu Gardens remember to look inside the stores, at certain times of year you can buy local gifts that tie in with events upcoming. I’ve visited in the summer and near CNY so I’ve seen how the stores change their products. Some food stalls are also located inside the Yu area, try some local delicacies while you’re here.
