Introducing Shuitou Village

Shuitou Buyi Village is located in Shuitou at the southern end of Kaiyang Ten-Li Gallery. The Qinglong River enters the Digao Dam from here, and the river flows through the foot of the village. The village backs to Xiangtianlong and faces the Qinglong River, towering ancient trees, and beautiful scenery.

The village has 62 households and 210 people, all of whom are surnamed Luo and several families of sons-in-law who live with the family. They are Buyi people and are the leaders of the Song chieftain family, who are second only to Matou Village among the eight villages of Diwo. The village has a strict hierarchy.

Those with higher status occupy the first layer, those with lower status and their descendants occupy the second layer. As time goes by and the population increases, the sons-in-law who marry into the family and the other new population occupy the third layer.

There is a sacred tree under the second floor of the village that is so big that three people can hug it. Villagers often make wishes and hang red flowers there, and they all come true. There are many stories related to the sacred tree.
