The Wrinkles of Time Hide the Breath of the Earth|Shanghai Exhibition

✨Exhibition: Feet on the Ground
📍Location: Lisson Gallery
📅Dates: 2025.2.22-4.19
👨🏻‍🎨Artist: Masaomi Yasunaga

🌋Standing before Masaomi Yasunaga’s sculptures, you can almost hear the sandglass of time softly ticking. This Japanese sculptor distills the time codes of European cobblestone streets into a stunning visual poem.
Who would have thought! Those seemingly hard glazes, fired at 1300℃, stretch out like flowing clouds into unknown shapes.

⛰️What moved me most in the gallery was the mosaic code covering an entire wall. The artist transforms the cobblestone paths, trodden millions of times, into an impromptu dance of glaze and fire. Each color block looks like a wrinkle ironed by time, mottled yet carrying a thrilling sense of order. He said, “Every step we take creates a landscape, just like the mosaics of ancient Greece.”
At this moment, I suddenly understood—we are all strokes of history.

🗻The floating container sculptures are even more amazing! Glazes specially crafted collapse freely in the kiln fire, finally freezing into organic forms like coral reefs. The dark silver texture hides breathing pores of bubbles, and up close, tiny gold flecks sparkle✨
The artist calls this “the primal beauty that removes human will.” Indeed, these works seem like the earth’s own growing bones.

🏔️I recommend wearing light-colored clothes for photos;
the sculptures in the dark-toned space come with a natural soft light filter!
