Still wondering where to go for spring flower viewing? Don’t squeeze into the crowds! Zhabei Park in Jing’an District is the perfect spot! Easily accessible by subway, you can avoid the busy Bund and quietly enjoy your own springtime romance.
Stepping into Zhabei Park feels like entering a garden forgotten by time. There aren’t many tourists here, but countless spring surprises await. Tulips, purple-leaf plums, and peach blossoms are blooming vibrantly, and next week the weeping crabapple will make a grand appearance, fulfilling all your springtime expectations at once!
The East Garden is definitely the park’s treasure area, with over 40,000 tulips blooming freely—about 70-80% in full bloom—colorful like a natural oil painting. Small pansies dot the flower beds, full of rustic charm. On sunny days, every corner shines like a poem; any snapshot you take will look like a stylish French film scene. Even more delightful, a few purple-leaf plums nearby are also in full bloom, their pink petals complementing the colorful tulips, creating a dreamy fairy-tale setting.
If you want to photograph tulips, enter from the East Gate and you’ll soon see that beautiful sea of flowers. In the afternoon, the light is soft, making your photos stunning—don’t miss this best shooting time. The blooming period is expected to last another week or two, so photo lovers should hurry!
Fans of traditional style are in luck! Starting next week, the weeping crabapple in front of the Qian Family Ancestral Hall will begin to bloom. With white walls, black tiles, exquisite carved windows, and pink crabapple flowers, the atmosphere of a classical Jiangnan garden is fully realized—traditional style lovers must visit! According to bloom forecasts, late March to early April is the peak flowering period for the weeping crabapple, perfectly following the tulip season, making your spring flower viewing seamless.
Besides these, the park is full of little beauties everywhere. Purple-leaf plums, peach blossoms, and magnolias quietly bloom in every corner, especially those planted along the waterways, where flowers and clear water reflect each other, lifting your spirits.
Such a beautiful Zhabei Park is not only free to enter but also open 24 hours a day with no need for advance booking—so thoughtful! Take Metro Line 1 to Yanchang Road Station, exit from Exit 2, and it’s just a 5-minute walk. After visiting Zhabei Park, you can also stop by Jing’an Sculpture Park nearby, where tulips and early cherry blossoms are also in full bloom—enjoy them all in one trip!
The flower season waits for no one, so seize the last days of spring and come to Zhabei Park for a date with spring!
