1933 Old Millfun is located in Hongkou District, Shanghai. It was once the Shanghai Municipal Slaughterhouse, the largest slaughterhouse in Shanghai at the time. The famous British designer was hired to design and build it, showcasing an overall ancient Roman basilica style, while also incorporating elements of traditional Chinese architectural feng shui. The building features many corridors and spiral staircases, making it feel like walking through a maze.
Today, it has been transformed into a cultural and creative center, housing designer brand stores, cafes, and restaurants. In addition to art exhibitions, it frequently hosts concerts and fashion shows. The films "Tiny Times" and "The 101st Proposal" have also been shot here.
