The Former Residence of Guo Moruo in Leshan is where the great writer Guo Moruo was born and spent his youth. Located at 315 Wenhao Street in Shawan District, it faces Mount Suishan and the Moshui River. The residence's name was inscribed by Qi Gong. Built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, the residence is a one-story building with a Chinese-style crossbeam structure. It features four entrances, three wells, and a backyard. It boasts 36 rooms, large and small, and a floor area of 1,108 square meters, spread over 2,148 square meters. It retains its ancient charm. Guo Moruo composed his early poems, including "Rising Early," "Tea Creek," and "Scenes from the Village," here.

Guo Moruo Memorial Hall
To commemorate the 120th anniversary of Guo Moruo's birth, Shawan District invested in the construction of the Guo Moruo Memorial Hall and the Guo Moruo Cultural Garden, and also restored the back garden of Guo Moruo's former residence. The memorial hall embodies the architectural style of traditional western Sichuan dwellings in an abstract, creative, and minimalist manner, showcasing Guo Moruo's romantic and poetic character. Drawing on the life of Guo Moruo during his youth, the exhibition showcases his remarkable achievements in literature and art, history and archaeology, ideology and culture, science and education, and social activities, as well as his remarkable and legendary life, through a wealth of precious cultural relics and historical materials, along with a variety of exhibition methods such as scene sculptures, lacquer paintings, multimedia, and animation.
