Start by visiting the free Yuyuan Garden to admire the pavilions and towers, full of traditional Chinese atmosphere. The Nine-turn Bridge is always crowded every time I go. No need to buy a ticket to enter Yuyuan Garden. Next to it is the City God Temple Taoist temple, where you can stop by to pray; the entrance fee is 10 yuan and includes three incense sticks. At the exit, there is also a lucky bag box where you can draw a fortune for free.
Then walk towards Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, passing by the graffiti wall opposite Shanghai Jinling High School, which is perfect for taking photos.
Finally, take photos with the iconic three landmarks of Shanghai’s Bund.
For dining, you can choose the shopping malls on the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street side. We ate at Fei Da Chu, which was pretty good.
