Review of the Chic Photo Spots in Shanghai

🌳 Tian An 1000 Trees – Shanghai

What to do here?
• It’s a “sky garden” landmark featuring over 1,000 trees decorated on a 9-story building structure by the Suzhou River, complete with cafes, art galleries, and small gardens designed for strolling and relaxed photo shoots.
• Located not far from Jiangning Road Station (Exit 1, an 8–10 minute walk). The atmosphere is shady and peaceful, with stylish photo props by the canal.

Photo tips:
• The best light is early morning or late evening, with southwest sunlight filtering perfectly through the treetops.
• Find simple compositions like car windows or stones by the path mixed with trees to add layers to your photos.

🌆 Oriental Pearl TV Tower – Shanghai

Place introduction:
• A 468 m tall tower with 11 spheres arranged like “pearls on a jade plate” on the Pudong side, near The Bund.
• A great photo spot is the west side of the Huangpu River during the Blue Hour after sunset, when the blue-purple sky contrasts softly with the lights from the spheres.

Photography tips:
• Use a tripod + shoot long exposure by the river or at dusk.
• Popular angles:
• Waibaidu Bridge uses the steel cables as leading lines + the tower centered.
• Lujiazui Central Green uses trees as the foreground against the sky.
• You can go up inside the tower for a 360° view from the gallery (entrance fee applies).
