3 Nights 4 Days Shanghai Travel Route! Day 1

⚡️Day 1⚡️
Check-in at Central Hotel - Lilian Bakery - Grandmother Restaurant - Head to Disneyland

1️⃣ For those arriving after 11 PM, there are two ways to get from Pudong Airport to the city!

1. Use Didi or taxi
- Estimated fare 150 CNY (30,000 KRW)
- Takes about 40 minutes
2. Use the night bus
- 22 CNY (4,400 KRW)
- Takes about 1 hour
- Bus intervals are random

2️⃣ Hotel Check-in

I stayed at Central Hotel and prepaid a 1000 CNY deposit.
The deposit could be paid by cash, card, or Alipay.

3️⃣ Lilian Bakery

Lilian Bakery is located near Shinsegae Department Store.
We ordered a set of 2 egg tarts and 2 cheese tarts,
and paid 32 CNY (6,400 KRW).

4️⃣ Grandmother Restaurant
The most famous Dongpo pork restaurant among Koreans!
We ordered Dongpo pork / Mapo tofu / Egg fried rice / 2 bottles of Tsingtao,
and paid 192 CNY.

Since it’s a restaurant popular with many Koreans, I was worried about waiting, but after 1 AM there was no wait.

Honestly, Grandmother Restaurant was just okay. I recommend going to one of the many Dongpo pork places near Nanjing East Road instead!

5️⃣ Disneyland
We took a Didi (78.53 CNY) to Disneyland comfortably.
The subway requires about two transfers, so we took Didi for convenience!

We entered at 3 PM on Thursday, and the crowd was less than I expected.
Still, popular attractions had wait times around 90 minutes, and photo spots showed 300 minutes.

The Zootopia attraction/photo spot, only at Shanghai Disney, was the most popular, so if you like Zootopia, head straight to Zootopia Land!

The traffic light shapes were different, and the charming village was the best...

There were two fireworks shows:
8:30 PM
9:30 PM
They followed the same route, so go at the time you prefer.
We waited 1 hour at a prime spot, and since we were in the front row, everyone sat on the ground to watch. (You must sit to watch)
If you want to watch from the front, be sure to bring a handkerchief!

6️⃣ How about street skewers instead of a restaurant?
We left at 10 PM, caught a Didi, and got back to the hotel around 11:30 PM. We ordered skewers from a skewer truck right in front of the hotel and had dinner!
Sometimes these local moments are the best part of traveling.

Tips💡
- If you wait for Didi at Disneyland, you’ll get a lot of solicitations (like “Your Didi won’t come” or “I’m a Didi driver”).
Ignore all of that because Didi will come on its own.

- Be careful of fake dolls sold at the Disneyland entrance! They are expensive and look very similar, which was a bit surprising.

- If you like street food, be sure to bring anti-diarrheal medicine.

- Selfie sticks are confiscated at Shanghai Disneyland.
