Situated at No. 1952 Century Avenue, Pudong, directly opposite the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, it spans roughly 113,000 m² with six above‑ground levels and two basements, making it nearly twice the size of the main museum at People’s Square. As of mid‑2024, 80% of exhibition space is open to the public, with a total capacity of up to 20,000 visitors per day.

Opening hours: Wednesday through Monday, 10:00 am–6:00 pm (last entry at 5 pm); closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays).
