Hotel Chalet Shanghai Review
Our family stayed here for 5 nights in 2 rooms, booked through Trip. We booked a Deluxe Queen Room (No Window) with a late check-out time of 2:00 PM.
The hotel is conveniently located, easily accessible from People Square Station Exit 14 (no escalator).
If you don't check in very early, you can take Exit 15 (with escalator) at Raffles Place, or Exit 20 (with escalator). It's just a short walk across the street.
Hotel:
๐ The check-in lobby is on the 5th floor, while rooms are on floors 3-5.
๐ The reception staff were polite and helpful. You can contact the hotel via WeChat.
On the first day, my family and I were assigned rooms on separate floors, 3rd and 5th (the same floor was full). On the second night, the staff let us choose which floor to move to. We chose the 5th floor (the same floor as the lobby). It was very convenient.
๐ The room was exactly as described. The bed and pillows were comfortable (for us). There was no noise disturbance in the room. Even on the lobby floor, rooms 501 and 502 are the first.
๐ The room has enough space to fit two 28-inch suitcases.
๐ There are several power outlets, no adapter needed.
๐ The door separates the bathroom from the shower room (the toilet is an automatic flush, no bidet).
๐ The shower door on the 3rd floor closes tightly, no water splashing out. On the 5th floor, if the shower is turned on at high speed, water splashes out, but it doesn't overflow. There's a bath towel to absorb it.
๐ Housekeeping cleans every day and refills two bottles of water per day. You can get more water at the lobby, and refill tea and coffee packets in the room.
๐ The air conditioning is adjustable, but the temperature is controlled centrally. The air conditioning is cool.
๐ There's a refrigerator, but it's not cold. It's a temperature-controlled unit.
๐ Toothbrushes and combs are provided daily, and a hair dryer is provided.
๐ Luggage storage is available at check-in and check-out.
๐ You can call DiDi to pick you up and drop you off in front of the hotel.
If you can't, you'll have to stay in East Nanjing, as most people are already out and about. This hotel is also a good place to stay. It's within walking distance of East Nanjing Walking Street, The Bund, and M&M. There are plenty of places to eat near the hotel, including Starbucks and Chagee. Alternatively, you can walk to East Nanjing for some curry rice, Xie San Bao (่นๅๅฎ), and crab noodles. It's about a 400-meter walk away, so it's a breeze.
