Shanghai Grand View Garden

Shanghai Grand View Garden, located on the shores of Dianshan Lake in Qingpu District, is about 60 kilometers from the city center and covers a total area of 2811.56 mu (approximately 1.87 square kilometers). It was fully completed and opened to the public in October 1989. Built based on the descriptions in the classic Chinese novel "Dream of the Red Chamber," the garden has pioneered new areas of research in Redology. Here, visitors can admire exquisite architectural complexes inspired by the novel, with over 10 groups of buildings and more than 20 scenic spots forming a magnificent view. The garden also features rare furniture displays, with unique varieties, quantities, and quality unmatched by other tourist attractions in China. Additionally, it boasts over 100 ancient and precious trees, adding a profound historical depth to the site. The garden has served as a filming location for more than 100 domestic and international film and television productions. It also hosts rich cultural activities, including the annual Dream of the Red Chamber Cultural and Arts Festival. The area is lush with vegetation and shaded by green trees. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy different seasonal highlights: crabapple blossoms in spring (March and April), lotus flowers in summer (June and July), osmanthus flowers in autumn (September and October), and plum blossoms in winter (January and February).
