It is currently the best season to enjoy the muhly grass at Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park. The 32,000-square-meter sea of pink flowers looks like clouds and mist, making it an excellent autumn check-in spot.
1. Basic Information
- Blooming Period: The best viewing time is from October to early December.
- Location: Phase II Flower Valley of Binjiang Forest Park, about a 10-minute walk from the park's East Gate.
- Opening Hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Admission: Free.
2. Transportation Guide
- Subway: Exit 1A at Shuangjiang Road Station on Line 10, then a 7-minute taxi ride to the East Gate; or exit 2 at Gaoqiao Station on Line 10, walk 850 meters to the Pubei East Road and Caogao Branch Road bus stop, transfer to Waigaoqiao Line 1 bus, get off at Chongjing Road and Suitang Road stop after 15 minutes, then walk 200 meters to the North Gate.
- Bus: Take Line 6 or Line 10 to Gangcheng Road Station, then transfer to Waigaoqiao Line 1.
- Driving: Navigate to "Binjiang Forest Park Phase II East Gate Parking Lot." Parking fee is 5 RMB/hour, with a daily maximum of 20 RMB.
3. Photography Tips
- Best Spots: The window of the small wooden house in Flower Valley offers oil painting-like views of the flower-covered hillside; the small wooden house by the water and the bridge are perfect for panoramic shots. Additionally, the gentle slope on the south side of Flower Valley, the riverside trail viewing platform, the junction of the colorful trail, and near the scenic pavilion are also great photo locations.
- Golden Time: Early morning or dusk when the light is soft. Backlit muhly grass looks especially crystal clear, particularly 40 minutes before sunset when the light angle is lowest, turning the muhly grass rose gold.
- Shooting Techniques: Use the winding paths specially opened in the flower sea to create the feeling of being immersed in flowers; try low-angle upward shots with flowers in the foreground to avoid crowds.
4. Travel Tips
- Pets are not allowed in the park. The temperature by the river in autumn feels cooler, so it is recommended to bring a jacket and wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Please stay on the designated paths and avoid stepping on the flower clusters to help protect this pink romantic landscape.
