Full-Screen Divine Challenge | Encounter Shanghai's Autumn Red Maples
🍁 Autumn Exclusive: Every autumn, the maple trees beside the gate of Baoshan Temple in Shanghai turn red first, forming an "ancient style painting" with the ochre-red wooden corridor and the golden pagoda. Shooting through the wooden window frames creates a high rate of great photos.
Tang-style Garden: The compact and exquisite Zhiyuan Garden opened in 2023. The Shuixin Pavilion faces water on three sides, and the Songtao Pavilion is hidden deep among flowers and trees. While strolling, you can sit on the resting chairs to enjoy the Zen scenery where creek stones, flowing water, and ancient buildings complement each other.
✨ Address: No. 518 Luoxi Road, Luodian Town, Baoshan District, Shanghai (beside Lianqi River)
✨ Opening Hours: Daily 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (last entry at 3:30 PM); on the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, opens early at 5:00 AM. Parking fee is 6 RMB/hour.
✨ Admission (Incense and Flower Ticket): 20 RMB daily (pay by scanning QR code);
✨ Transportation Guide
Public Transport: The preferred route is Metro Line 7 to "Meilan Lake Station." After exiting, transfer at the bus hub to Baoshan Bus 31 or 81, and get off at "Baoshan Temple Station" to arrive; buses 839, 841, and others also go directly to this stop.
- Nearby Attractions: From Meilan Lake Station, you can also visit the Meilan Lake Northern European Style Town, or follow the "Line 7 Cultural Route" to visit Gucun Park, Shanghai Wood Culture Museum, and other attractions.
1. Best Time: Autumn (October to November) when the red maples 🍁 are in full bloom. Early morning or late afternoon light is soft, ideal for capturing the light and shadow effects of the golden pagoda and red maples; on the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, experience the temple’s morning prayer atmosphere.
2. Tour Route: Enter through the main gate → view the red maples and Tang-style main buildings → climb the golden pagoda for a panoramic view → stroll through Zhiyuan Garden’s Shuixin Pavilion and Songtao Pavilion → take ancient-style photos at the wooden window frames of the corridor.
