Shangri-La 2-day 1-night travel guide~

💭DAY 1

From Lijiang, we hitchhiked to Shangri-La. It costs 120💰 per person (about 2 hours if taking the highway). We arrived in Shangri-La in the afternoon and rested at the homestay for a while before going out for food. At night, we strolled around Dukezong Ancient Town, which had a great atmosphere~

💭DAY 2

Renting Tibetan costumes and chartering a car to Napa Lake and Songzanlin Monastery.

📍Napa Lake
In April, Napa Lake is already a little green. Highly recommended with sheep and cattle scattered all over the mountains. The scenery along the way is beautiful~ You can ride horses and hold little lambs (110💰).

📍Songzanlin Monastery
In the afternoon, we went to Songzanlin Monastery. Remember to bring your ID to buy tickets on-site. Tickets and scenic shuttle bus cost 75💰. It's also a great place to take pictures in Tibetan costumes~

✔️About food
📍Qige Chongqing
Recommended by the homestay owner, it's a delicious home-style dish. We went twice~ Recommended dishes include sweet and sour pork, beef stir-fry, and seafood soup.
📍Quiet Mani Stone Tibetan Restaurant
You must try the beef hotpot when in Shangri-La. Their fried potato chips, sweet oil tea, and yogurt are also particularly delicious~
📍Ama's Butter Tea
I heard their barley milk tea is very good, but I only tried the butter tea. The milk flavor was a bit light for me. You can try the milk slices, which are quite tasty~

✔️About accommodation
We stayed near Dukezong, which was very convenient. As the altitude here is relatively high, we chose a homestay with oxygen and heating, which was more comfortable~ Don't wash your hair or take a shower🛁 on the first day.

✔️About chartering a car
Chartering a car to Napa Lake and Songzanlin Monastery costs 180💰 per car. It's very convenient to choose a charter car. You can stop and take pictures when you see beautiful scenery on the way. The driver was very nice and didn't rush us at all. He even helped us take pictures~

✔️About renting Tibetan costumes
We found a place near the homestay. It's recommended to book one day in advance and come directly the next day. We paid 60💰 for the costume and makeup. You can check out a few more places for comparison~

🔖The temperature difference between day and night here is significant, and the wind is strong and cold in the morning and evening. Bring one or two thick clothes, and remember to apply sunscreen as the ultraviolet rays are high. The weather is dry, so don't forget to use body lotion~
