Songzanlin Monastery

A day spent exploring Songzanlin Monastery, a truly beautiful temple. Climbing the stairs can be quite tiring, so be prepared before heading up. We brought a young child, and the condition is as shown in the picture.

- Built in 1679 by the Fifth Dalai Lama, this monastery is the center of the Gelug (Yellow Hat) sect in the region.
- The temple complex is built on a hillside, resembling an ancient fortress, and consists of two main buildings: Zhacang and Jikang.
- The temple features colorful murals and numerous religious artifacts, including bronze Buddha statues.
