🐲 Guishan Temple is located on a hill in the old city of Shangri-La, Yunnan Province, China. Most Thais call it Dafo Temple. It is a Tibetan temple of religious and cultural significance. It features traditional Tibetan architecture and beautiful views of the city and the surrounding snow-capped mountains.
🤩 The highlight of the temple is the Giant Prayer Wheel, which is considered the largest prayer wheel in the world. It is 21 meters high and weighs 60 tons. Inside, millions of prayers are written. Spinning the wheel is like praying millions of times.
🕰️ Opening hours: Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
💰 No admission fee
🚗 Travel: Those staying in the old city can walk because it is located in the old city.
❤️ I recommend spinning the giant prayer wheel. We spun it three times, following the Thai candlelight procession. ☺️
‼️ The temple is located on a hill, quite high. Those who are allergic to altitudes should be careful and should carry an oxygen can with them because the air is thin and walking up the hill may make you short of breath.
