Nestled deep in Shangri-La, a celestial abode suspended in the clouds

Perched on 3,000-meter-high cliffs within the folds of the Hengduan Mountains, the Balagezong Cliff Divine Hotel - hailed by "Chinese National Geography" as "the human settlement miracle closest to heaven" - is redefining the dialogue between humanity and nature through groundbreaking design.

Visiting Shangri-La during the rainy season meant missing the snow-capped mountains, but the misty landscapes transformed the region into an ethereal wonderland. From our window, we could overlook the millennia-old Tibetan village of Bala - a serene, picturesque paradise. Sipping tea 🍵 by the window while listening to mountain springs felt like living a celestial life. When rested, we joined local Tibetan grandmothers to learn butter tea making, immersing ourselves in authentic Tibetan culture.

The hotel exceeded expectations with exceptionally comfortable beds, heating systems, and luxurious amenities including a grand bathtub 🛁 and L'Occitane toiletries. Impeccable service included luggage assistance and shuttle services. Breakfast at the restaurant across from the hotel featured authentic local specialties like rice noodles, er si (rice cakes), and butter tea. Reluctant to leave, we'll return during snow season to witness this wonderland's transformed beauty.
