Stayed at this hotel in Shantou with my kid and experienced intangible cultural heritage

My wife, kid, and I came to Chaoshan to eat and drink during the New Year holiday. The first city we visited on our self-driving trip was Shantou. The main attractions in Shantou are the ancient cultural buildings near Xiaogongyuan. The food is everywhere in Shantou.

🏨 DIOTEL Chao Hotel
The hotel is in a great location on Zhujiang Road Food Street, 7 minutes from the high-speed railway station and 20 minutes from Xiaogongyuan by car.

Intangible cultural heritage experience
The hotel front desk helped us make a reservation for 8 pm. A chef told us the story behind the intangible cultural heritage and how to make it. Staff also taught us how to make red peach cakes, which we could eat after steaming.

🎞️ Chaozhou opera performance
There is a Chaozhou opera performance on the hotel rooftop every Saturday night, but we missed it.

Overall, the hotel was great and perfect for a family trip.
