Driving from Shanghai to Hainan, passing through Shaoguan, why not visit Fengcai Tower

🌟We went on a self-driving trip during the winter vacation and the temperature dropped. We started to enjoy the scenery halfway through the journey. The scenery was beautiful. It was not easy for my dad to drive. My original plan was to take a short walk every time I stopped in a city to experience the local customs and culture. As a result, I only started my first citywalk when I arrived in Shaoguan. My dad went back to the hotel to rest, and I took Jiaojiao in a taxi to Fengcai Tower, a nearby Shaoguan landmark.

🌟Fengcai Tower was built in the tenth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty. It was built by the prefect of Shaozhou to commemorate Yu Jing (a native of Shaoguan), a famous official of the Northern Song Dynasty. Yu Jing was one of the "Four Censors of the Song Dynasty" and there is a stone statue of him nearby. The words "Fengcailou" are also the works of calligraphers from the Ming Dynasty.

🌟The top of Fengcai Building with three layers of flying eaves is still very imposing. It looks very beautiful at night with bright lights. I saw that others also took beautiful photos of it during the day, with a green roof and red roof, and an antique style. There is a Vienna Hotel at the entrance, so it is quite convenient to go for a walk if you stay here.
Next to Fengcai Tower is the Centennial East Street, a pedestrian street with Nanyang arcade style. Jiaojiao and I walked through Fengcai Building and started looking for snacks. There were many varieties of snacks, but they were relatively scattered. I asked a shop owner, and he said that the snacks were not concentrated, but there were some in the small paths on both sides of the main road.

🌟I didn’t make any special travel guide, I just bought whatever I wanted to eat. I don’t think I tried any of Shaoguan’s special snacks. I just drank some herbal tea, but I didn’t expect the kids liked it so much. After shopping and having a good meal, I brought some snacks back for my dad. Those who didn’t go out shopping were also very happy.
