2-Day Shaoxing Tour in March 2025

1. Keyan Scenic Area (Photos 1–10): This massive rock, larger at the top than the bottom, is a marvel left by quarry workers 1,800 years ago. Its center of gravity lies perfectly on a vertical line, allowing it to stand for millennia. After the quarry, take a hand-rowed boat for a leisurely cruise on Mirror Lake, then stroll along the ancient towpath on Jian Lake. Returning from Mirror Lake, skip the painting boat and take the road across the small bridge. The vibrant February orchids, lush trees, and tranquil surroundings create a refreshing atmosphere. Finally, pass through Lu Town, with its charming bridges and canals, to complete the tour.

2. Luxun Former Residence (Photos 11–12): This grand residence showcases classic Jiangnan architecture. Luxun-related attractions are free, but expect long queues at other sites on weekends.

3. Dayu Mausoleum (Photos 13–16): Pink peach blossoms and green willows against the azure sky create a picturesque scene. The "Eye of Time" in the Dayu Memorial Hall is spectacular when sunlight shines directly at noon. Unfortunately, we arrived early and only saw the light and shadow on the bronze wall.

4. East Lake (Photos 17–20): A bustling yet pleasant lakeside area with beautiful scenery.
