A Poetic Retreat in Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai, Capturing Stunning Ancient-Style Photos

Arriving at "Dongshan," famed for the idiom "Dongshan zai qi" (a comeback after failure),
this was once the reclusive home of Xie An from the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
With my pet in tow, I stepped into this fairy-tale-like landscape of Shaoxing—
the scenes depicted by Xie Lingyun in "Ode to Dwelling in the Mountains" came to life!
Dressed in Hanfu, every snapshot is a masterpiece of ancient charm 📸

This time, I stayed at the Dongshan Grand View Hotel by Dongshan Lake in Shangyu, Shaoxing.
The Serene Courtyard Room features a private open-air garden, with an overall Zen-inspired design.

Thoughtfully prepared pet bowls and a cozy dog bed awaited my furry friend,
who burst with excitement the moment we entered, dashing around joyfully~

Strolling by the lake, every view is a tranquil masterpiece unique to this place.
For a fresh perspective, you can even board a painted boat for a lake tour,
immersing yourself in the timeless elegance and poetry passed down over millennia,
fully enchanted by the harmony of lake and mountain 🌊

The hotel also offers plenty of engaging experiences.
Hanfu rentals and travel photography services are available—
once dressed in Hanfu, it feels like stepping into a living Jiangnan ink painting.
Hidden on the B1 floor is a Yue Kiln Celadon Museum,
where you can admire the iconic misty blue hues of Jiangnan.
