Spectacular views in 2024! Drift ice in Shiretoko and Oshinkoshin Falls

Drift ice and Oshinkoshin Falls. When I parked my car in the parking lot, I was impressed by the sea in front of me, covered in drift ice. I tried to climb up to the front of Oshinkoshin Falls, but it was steep and I slipped on the snow, so I gave up. It is a branching waterfall, and one of the two falls is not Oshin or Koshin, but Nijo Falls, so it is named Oshinkoshin. Especially during the drift ice season, the sea of drift ice as far as the eye can see is a magnificent sight. It is a recommended tourist spot where you can see drift ice along with the waterfall that is popular all year round.

If you want to see drift ice, Shiretoko is recommended. There are many things that you can see in Shiretoko that you can't find in Monbetsu or Abashiri. I think the influence of the wind and the shape of the Shiretoko Peninsula are suitable for keeping drift ice.
