Baizhang Waterfall in Shengzhou, hidden among the mountains of eastern Zhejiang, cascades like a silver dragon and is hailed as the "No.1 Waterfall in Jiangnan." The deep gorge echoes with roaring waters and misty veils, creating an ethereal fairyland. Cool in summer and adorned with crystal ice formations in winter, it offers breathtaking beauty year-round—a perfect escape from urban chaos to embrace nature.
The waterfall consists of three tiers with a total drop of 100 meters, exuding majestic power. The most spectacular "Baizhang Falls" plunges nearly 70 meters vertically, sending up snowy sprays upon impact. Walk along the plank path to feel the mist on your face and witness the "rainbow wonder"—vibrant arcs often appear when sunlight hits the falls.
Facilities like glass viewing platforms and suspension bridges add thrills for the bold, offering vertigo-inducing views of the abyss. Tickets cost around ¥60, and a 2–3 hour visit is recommended. Wear anti-slip shoes for the wet stone steps. Nearby farmhouses serve local delights like Shengzhou steamed buns and pressed noodles to refuel before further exploration.
Access is easy: drive to "Baizhang Waterfall, Shengzhou" (parking available) or take the "Shengzhou-Guimen" bus from downtown to Baizhang Station, then walk 10 minutes. From Hangzhou, take a high-speed train to Shengzhou Xinchang Station and a 40-minute taxi ride. Tip: The waterfall is most spectacular during the rainy season, but safety precautions are essential!
