🏯 History and Scenery
Dapeng Ancient City is the only "national historical ancient city" in Shenzhen. It was built in the 27th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1394). It was once a coastal defense town against Japanese pirates and the British army. Shenzhen's nickname "Pengcheng" originated from this. Strolling along the bluestone streets, the mottled city walls, the general's mansion and the remains of ancient cannons, you can instantly travel back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties! It is recommended to visit at dusk. The night view of the ancient city under the red lanterns is like the "Tang Dynasty City That Never Sleeps", which is very suitable for Hanfu check-in.
📸 Must-see attractions
- Zhenwei General's Mansion: The mansion of Lai Enjue, a first-class military general in the Qing Dynasty, with carved beams and painted buildings, and a plaque bestowed by Emperor Daoguang.
- Coastal Defense Museum: Displays military relics from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, revealing the history of the "Great Wall on the Sea".
- Cross Street Cultural and Creative Area: A collection of teahouses and handicraft shops, where you can buy Dapeng specialty souvenirs.
🚗 Tips
- Transportation: Navigate to "Dapeng Fortress" by car, or take bus E11 and transfer to M471 to "Dapeng Fortress Station".
