600-Year-Old Ancient City Exploration Guide

This ancient city, over 600 years old, is perfect for a leisurely stroll
📍 South Gate Tower: A must-visit spot! Stand on the city wall and gaze out at Dapeng Bay; on rainy days, the misty rain adds a poetic atmosphere
📍 Cross Street: Red lanterns hang throughout the ancient alley, creating a magical scene when lit at night (but be careful on the slippery stone slabs)
📍 General’s Residence: Well-preserved Qing Dynasty buildings; don’t miss the "First Rank in the Court" stone carving at the entrance
📍 City Wall Ruins: Perfect for photos! The weathered wall textures combined with moss give a strong sense of history

Personally, I think the ancient city is even more charming in the rain. Although the ground can be slippery, I recommend wearing non-slip shoes and bringing a transparent umbrella for better photos🌂

🚗 Transportation Tips:
1.5 hours by car from downtown; just navigate to "Dapeng Suocheng South Gate"
2. Take bus E11 to "Dapeng Central Station," then transfer to M471 to "Dapeng Suocheng Station"

🍜 Food Recommendations:
Be sure to try the General’s Duck and Hakka Stuffed Tofu at Pengcheng Restaurant
Lai Ji Rice Noodle Rolls at the ancient city gate are also very authentic

Remember to bring a jacket in autumn and winter—the ancient city is by the sea and can be quite windy
