Shenzhen Bay Park is truly breathtaking! I never get tired of coming here every week

Who would have thought! The first time I waited until dusk at Shenzhen Bay Park, watching the orange sea sunset dye the sky in gradient colors, with seagulls flying close to the sea surface, I instantly felt, "This is the ultimate romance of Shenzhen!" Every casual photo looks like wallpaper. No wonder I want to bring my family here every week—from sunrise to sunset, from playing with kids to relaxing alone, this place fulfills all seaside imaginations.

1. These must-visit spots! Experience different kinds of romance by time

Early morning must-go: Enjoy peace and the sunrise alone

Sunrise Theater: Be sure to arrive before sunrise! The empty coastline only has the sound of waves. Wait for the sun to slowly rise from the sea, golden light spreading on the beach, even the shadows become gentle. Lay down a picnic mat and sit for a while, feel the sea breeze and watch the boats in the distance, even the sleepiness from waking up early is cured. If you bring kids, they can play in the sand while there are few people, no need to fight for space, so comfortable you won’t want to leave.

Daytime with kids: Super fun family time

Coconut Grove Sand Pool: Definitely a paradise for families! The grassy lawn looks like the Land of Oz, perfect for running and lying down. The playful sandpit is enough for kids to play all afternoon, plus rainbow-colored playground equipment that looks like a fairy tale scene in photos. Every time I bring my kid here, he builds castles and digs "tunnels" in the sandpit while I sit on the grass soaking up the sun, occasionally handing him a bottle of water—relaxing and worry-free.

Sea Breeze Sports Park: The grassy lawn just like in a Studio Ghibli film! The endless green grass, bring a small bucket and shovel, and you can even go tide pooling with your kid (remember to check the tide schedule in advance). Kids chase little crabs while I sit nearby enjoying the view, occasionally snapping some photos. It feels like stepping into an animation, and when I casually post on social media, people always ask for the location.

Evening romance: Sunset and seagulls flying together

Seagull Rendezvous (turn right at Exit D2): Seagulls are most active in the evening! Hold up a piece of bread, and seagulls will fly close to your face. Press the shutter and you get a stunning "person and seagull in the same frame" shot. Remember to wear light-colored clothes to match the blue sky and seagulls for a high success rate of great photos. Last time I wore a white dress, and my friends said, "It looks like a seaside photoshoot."

Talent Park: A must-visit at sunset! Watch the silhouette of the "Spring Bamboo Shoot" building against the sunset, every casual photo looks like a city cover shot. On weekends, there’s a light show. When the lights on the Star Bridge turn on, it feels like walking through a tunnel of starlight. Holding your family’s hand and walking slowly, the romance goes deep into your bones.

West Bay Mangroves: Orange sunset + black rocks, it’s like a Japanese anime come to life! Stand on the rocks and watch the sunset dye the sea orange-red, waves hitting the rocks, even the wind becomes gentle. Be sure to check the tide schedule; at low tide, you can get close to the rocks for even better photos.

Artistic relaxation: Forest vibes and healing

Egret Slope Book Bar: An artistic space hidden in the woods! Sitting inside the book bar, you can see the seaside greenery through the window. Order a coffee and read a book, occasionally look up to see egrets flying by, instantly escaping the city noise. If you bring kids, they can pick a picture book from the small bookshelf nearby, quietly enjoying parent-child reading time.

Bridge View Park: Come here if you want to quietly listen to the wind! The view of Shenzhen Bay Bridge is fully in sight. Find a bench on the west side of the coniferous forest, watch the traffic and waves, think about nothing, and just relax for a long time. If you come in the evening, you can see the bridge lights slowly turn on, creating a perfect atmosphere.

2. Travel guide! Tips to avoid pitfalls & stay worry-free

1. Taking the subway is super convenient: To go straight to the popular check-in spot, take Line 9 to Shenzhen Bay Park Station Exit D2, and you’ll see the sea as soon as you exit; to go to Talent Park, take Line 13 to Talent Park Station Exit B1, just a few minutes’ walk, no worries about parking.

2. Time planning is important: Early morning (6:30-8:00) is perfect for watching the sunrise at Sunrise Theater, fewer people and beautiful scenery; daytime (10:00-16:00) is great for playing with kids at Coconut Grove Sand Pool and Sea Breeze Sports Park, remember to apply sunscreen; evening (17:00-19:00) is best for watching the sunset at Talent Park and West Bay Mangroves, the lighting is perfect for photos.

3. Don’t forget these essentials: If you bring kids, bring sand toys and spare clothes (playing in sand and water can get messy); if you want to take photos, wear light-colored clothes and bring small props (like a straw hat or bubble machine); if you come in the evening, bring a light jacket because the sea breeze can be chilly.

Every time I come to Shenzhen Bay Park, I discover new beauty—maybe a seagull resting on the rocks, maybe a sea breeze carrying the scent of flowers, or maybe the sound of my kid laughing while running on the grass. If you come, which check-in spot would you want to visit first? Chasing the sunrise or playing in the sand with your kids?
