Caoba Village, located in Yangzhou Town, Yang County, Shaanxi Province, lies within the core area of the Crested Ibis Conservation Area. Its hilly terrain transforms with the changing seasons, creating a breathtaking rural landscape. It resembles the idyllic paradise described by Tao Yuanming, with verdant mountains, turquoise waters, azure skies, and verdant land, fragrant rice fields, crisp pears, plump fish, and dancing cranes.
This is the habitat of the Crested Ibis, a bird species listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. In the 1980s, only seven individuals were found here . Today, even after more than 40 years of conservation and breeding , the Crested Ibis, known as the "Gem of the Orient," is hard to find.
In front of the village, there are crisscrossing paths where you can smell the fragrance of rice and watch red-crowned cranes playing; behind the village, there are thousands of miles of terraced fields where you can enjoy the drizzling pear blossoms and listen to the singing of birds; the village is clean and beautiful where you can live in a pastoral villa and taste organic food.
Suitable for all seasons, rape flowers can be enjoyed in spring
