Depart from Liantang Port in the morning for a day trip to Shenzhen! Turn right at the Wutongshan Xinju bus stop to reach the entrance to Dengyun Road. Ascend along Dengyun Road, following the Xianhu Mountain ridge, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Shenzhen Reservoir. Arrive at Xiaowutong Mountain to admire the Ten-Mile Rhododendrons. Continue climbing to the top of Dawutong Mountain for panoramic views of Shenzhen, kicking off an active day.
At noon, descend from Wutong Mountain along Dengyun Road to Xianhu Fairy Cave and then enter the Xianhu Botanical Garden. If you're ready for lunch, enjoy a complimentary vegetarian meal at the Hongfa Temple dining hall. Afterward, visit Hongfa Temple and immerse yourself in Lingnan Buddhist culture. Stroll through the Fern Garden and Gesneria Garden to admire rare plants. Visit the Eleven-Arch Bridge to explore the Baldcypress Forest. Take photos in the Cactus and Succulent Garden, immersing yourself in the beauty of nature.
In the evening, walk from the south gate of Xianhu Botanical Garden to Xianhu Road Metro Station. Take Line 2 or Line 8 back to Liantang Station.
After exiting the station, head to Shundegong Liantang Xindian for a delicious meal. We're introducing our limited-edition "Braised Shark's Fin with Pork Tripe and Chicken" dish. At 528 yuan, it's enough for 4-6 people to share and offers excellent value. Start with the broth: white pepper sourced directly from Hainan's red soil lends a vibrant, fresh, yet refreshing flavor. Then, remove the pork tripe and slice open its thick, chewy, thick belly, revealing a generous 7 taels of mid-range shark's fin. The fins are tender and the tripe is crispy. Paired with the Deep Mountain No. 1 free-range chicken, its skin is crispy and the meat is firm, bursting with a sweet, chickeny flavor. For this price, you get a bowl of shark's fin that's comparable to a bowl costing 1,000 yuan in Hong Kong.
After enjoying the "Braised Shark's Fin with Pork Tripe," order our second favorite, the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Gold Medal Cured Meat Claypot Rice." At 58 yuan, it's enough for 4-5 people and a fantastic value! The traditional Cantonese-style sausage is used, and its savory flavor permeates every grain of rice. Each pot is bursting with golden rice crust, which is crispy but not burnt, and bursting with aroma. The restaurant even promises, "No rice crust, no charge!" The mellow and savory flavor complements the delicious flavor.
Pair it with the Rushan oysters: each one the size of a palm, opened to order, the oysters are plump, sweet, and rich. The organic loofah is smooth and juicy, with a refreshing sweetness that helps to alleviate greasiness. Finally, try the crispy braised pigeon: its skin is rosy, its meat is juicy, and its meat is tender, offering a rich and complex flavor.
After your meal, walk to the Xianglian Market near the Liantang Port to purchase fresh vegetables, barbecued meat, and other ingredients, rounding out your day.
