Tashilunpo Monastery in Shigatse

I’m thrilled to visit the stunning Tashilumpo Monastery in Shigatse.
Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse Tibet's second-largest city, was founded in 1447 by Gedun Drupa, the 1st Dalai Lama.

The monastery has played a pivotal role in Tibetan Buddhism's history and teachings. Its preservation of ancient scriptures, relics, and rituals makes it a living museum of Tibetan culture.

The architecture's monastery is unique, and beautiful, and the building has 2 different contrasting color, white and dark maroon. The surrounding monastery is very calm and soothing.

Its location amidst the stunning Himalayan backdrop adds to its allure. Tashilhunpo Monastery is the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, the second-highest spiritual authority in Tibetan Buddhism after the Dalai Lama.
