Outside the water lane, a trace of nostalgia and light smoke remain

Houliushui Township is a place where time flows slowly. I walked along the bluestone alleys, flanked by low, quaint houses. Wooden windows slightly ajar, smoke curled upward, almost as if I could smell the scent of home. Waterways flowed through the city, small boats bobbed leisurely, and the distant songs of boatwomen drifted in, like a dream. This wasn't a sightseeing trip, but a reunion with memories deep within.
Here, every lantern and every small bridge exuded the spirit of life, performing for no one, simply existing quietly. Sitting by the dock, watching the elderly rowing and the children playing by the water, a long-lost sense of peace quietly returned to me. Houliushui Township doesn't inspire awe, but rather a quiet nostalgia and a peaceful life. Perhaps this is what homesickness looks like.
