[Shirakawa, Gifu Prefecture] World Heritage Site x Snow Scenery⛄️

Located near the border with Ishikawa Prefecture, Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage Site and Gifu's treasure, is a charming village with houses called gassho-zukuri that still exist. 📷

The townscape, which feels like a time slip, is wonderful, and in winter, the atmosphere is even more impressive when it is covered in deep snow. ⤴️
At its peak, the snow can reach nearly 2 meters. 😲

There are many picturesque places to stroll around the village!

In addition, the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory, located on high ground, is a popular spot where you can overlook the village, so don't forget to check it out. ☝️

It is a bit difficult to access by car in winter, but there are direct express buses from Nagoya, Kanazawa, and Toyama, and there are also buses from Takayama. 🚍
