Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage village that you must visit at least once🇯🇵

#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
Just seeing it with my own eyes, I understand why it's recognized as a World Heritage Site...📸🫶🏻 Shirakawa-go Village in Gifu Prefecture in winter is breathtakingly beautiful. The village is blanketed in pure white snow, with Gassho-zukuri houses lining the village like a scene from a fairytale. It's quiet, peaceful, and warm in the cold... It's like time has stopped for a moment.
🧣When I went: Late January - Snow fell all over the village. • Walking in the snow was so quiet and peaceful. • Every photo was as beautiful as a postcard. • It felt like I'd stepped into the world of Ghibli.
🚗 How to get there (Recommended: Rent a car!) Driving around Japan in winter is amazing! The advantage is flexibility and you get to stop at beautiful spots along the way. However, be prepared, as heavy snow can make the roads slippery.
Popular routes: • Drive from Takayama (approximately 50 minutes) • Drive from Kanazawa (approximately 1.5 hours) • Or drive from Nagoya (approximately 2.5 hours)
Things to know/prepare: ✅ Rent a car from a reputable company "Snow tires (Studless Tires)"✅ If you've never driven in snow before, use a 4WD vehicle.✅ Use Google Maps and set the coordinates to "Shirakawa-go Parking Area."✅ There's parking available with a shuttle bus to the village.✅ Fill up your gas tank before heading up the mountain. Gas stations can be difficult to find.✅ Bring an ETC card for expressway use.

💭 If you want to experience the village from a Ghibli movie come to life...Shirakawa-go in winter will make you fall in love with Japan without even realizing it.🫶🏻❄️
