[Shizuoka Prefecture/Shinjuin] A temple dedicated to Princess Yae, one of the 13 Lords of Kamakura

This temple enshrines Princess Yae, the daughter of Ito Sukechika, who drowned herself in the Shinjugafuchi after a tragic love affair with Minamoto no Yoritomo.
As soon as you enter the temple grounds, you will find the Yaehime Hall on your right.
A wooden statue and memorial tower of Princess Yae are enshrined inside.
In 2022, the 13 Lords of the Kamakura period drama will be aired, and portraits of Yoritomo and Princess Yae that look more like the actors are on display!

There is a garden at the back, and when I visited, the trees were just starting to change color, so I was able to enjoy the colorful scenery.
