[Shizuoka] Umegashima Onsen Village: 5 Must-see Spots

I'm Katie, a Shizuoka outing lover.
This time, I'll introduce you to some of the best spots to stop by in the Okishizu Umegashima Onsen area.
*Okishizu = Oku-Shizuoka. A mountainous area in the northern part of Shizuoka City. The "Dream Suspension Bridge" in Sumata Gorge is also in Okishizu.
1. Umegashima Onsen
The Umegashima Onsen area is divided into four blocks: "Umegashima Konya Onsen", "Umegashima Kanayama Onsen (closed)", "Umegashima Shinden Onsen" and "Umegashima Onsen".
Of these, "Umegashima Onsen" is the area located the furthest back in the mountains and is said to be the origin of Umegashima Onsen.
Although there aren't many, there are many hot spring inns and cafes lined up.
The inns also offer drop-in baths.
2. Oyu no Furusato Park
This park is home to "Yunojinja Shrine", where the source (or god?) of Umegashima Onsen is enshrined, as well as "Gensen Yutaki" and "Rock Baths" where the source flows.
This is a blessing for hot spring lovers♪
I prayed that I would be able to find good hot springs in the future.

③ Golden Hot Spring
I have been to over 100 hot springs so far, but this was one of the best, with a slippery and smooth alkaline spring.
There are restaurants and a campsite on the premises.
It seems like it would be great to camp and have a BBQ and then take a bath in this hot spring!

④ Shinfuji no Sato
A drive-in on the way from Shizuoka city to Umegashima Onsenkyo. It seems to be famous for its wasabi ice cream (unfortunately it was sold out when I went...)
There are no places to stop off from here until Golden Hot Spring, 20km away, so I recommend taking a toilet break here.

⑤ Suspension Bridge
There are many pedestrian suspension bridges like the Dream Suspension Bridge in Okusu.
I was quite nervous, but I tried crossing it. If you do cross it, please be careful not to fall.
*Sumata Gorge, where the Dream Suspension Bridge is located, is in the same Oku-Shizu region, but since there is no direct road, you will need to go to Shizuoka city once, which takes about an hour one way.
