A civilization lost in the jungle, and a travel story about Angkor Wat hidden in Siem Reap that is unfamiliar to Koreans
■ Travel period: 5 days
□ Day 1: Arrival, visit to Pub Street
□ Day 2: Angkor Wat small circuit tour, vacation
□ Day 3: Angkor Wat grand tour, visit to Pub Street
□ Day 4: Angkor Wat grand tour, vacation
□ Day 5: Angkor National Museum, purchase of souvenirs
■ Recommended restaurants: None
* Cambodia does not have any unique and well-known food,
and Siem Reap is a tourist destination, but it is not tasty and the prices are as expensive as in Korea. * I recommend eating breakfast at the hotel and having cheap food and beer for lunch/dinner.
■ Recommended hotel: Soka Angkor Hotel (☆☆☆☆☆ level)
* I stayed at two accommodations during my trip, and the common point between the two accommodations is that
the accommodations are old, the shower facilities are broken, and if water comes out,
they don't think about fixing them, and the gym is in shambles.
※ Soka Angkor has excellent room conditions and a lobby/pool, except for the shower facilities,
and has a very good service mind.
(The gym is also in shambles here.)
■ Photo spot: Anywhere in the Angkor Wat ruins is a spot.
* Even so, if you ask me to recommend one, I'll give you the following obvious answer.
1. Angkor Wat
2. Bayon Temple
3. Animal friends (buffalo/monkey/chicken, etc.) in various ruins
■ Travel tip: Siem Reap is a travel destination for the Angkor Wat ruins. If you are not interested in history/historical sites, I do not recommend it.
The reasons are
1. The prices are quite high and they try to rip off tourists.
2. The historical sites are so large and wide that it requires a lot of effort and physical strength.
3. There is nothing to see other than the historical sites.
4. The quality is much lower than other Southeast Asian accommodations in the same price range, but it is expensive.
Despite these shortcomings, as I mentioned earlier,
I recommend you visit at least once if you are interested in historical sites/history.
You need at least 3 days to go around the Grand Tour,
so I recommend 5 days or more.
This concludes my travelogue of Angkor Wat, the lost city in the jungle.
