Not Just Angkor Wat! The Majestic Ta Prohm in Cambodia

Ta Prohm is an awe-inspiring ancient Angkor site where massive banyan trees seem to engulf the ruins. It’s a must-see destination often included in most tours of Angkor Wat, and even if you charter a tuk-tuk, the driver will likely recommend visiting this site. The sight of the banyan roots, resembling giant octopus tentacles, intertwined with the ruins is truly breathtaking.

As the trees continue to grow, the ruins have shown signs of deterioration compared to my first visit eight years ago. If you’re interested, it’s best to visit sooner rather than later!

This site has both an East Gate and a West Gate, but you can no longer pass through the ruins from one side to the other. Each entrance offers a different atmosphere, so if you have time, it’s recommended to walk around the exterior to the opposite side or explore the ruins from both entrances for a complete experience.
