The Wanlouzi Folk Residence Museum is located in Heshun Ancient Town, Tengchong City, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. Wanlouzi is an exquisite ancient dwelling, known to the people of Heshun as "Wanlouzi" because its buildings follow the curves of the alleyways. "Wanlouzi" is not only a residential building but also a nickname for the Li family, the renowned merchant "Yongmaohe." The Wanlouzi residence is a courtyard complex with three entrances, three rooms, and a screen wall. The first courtyard houses the owner's family history exhibition, while the second courtyard showcases the culture of Heshun folk residences. It has now been designated a "folk residence museum."
The Yongmaohe firm, a symbol of wealth through commerce, earned a reputation in Tengchong's business community as "the curved building of Dongdong and Xidong." During the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, the firm's owner ventured into Burma for business, gradually developing into a multinational corporation with its headquarters in Mandalay, Myanmar, and branches in Shanghai, Lhasa, Kunming, Xiaguan, Baoshan, and Tengchong. The firm, spanning five generations, boasts a glorious history spanning over 100 years. While the building is now deserted, the grandeur of its former merchant family can still be felt in the meticulously crafted architectural details.
