Exploring Angkor’s Past: My 3-Hour Journey at the National Museum.

#cambodiatrip#museum#historical
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Cambodia with friend, and it was truly an enriching experience to visit the Angkor National Museum in Siem Reap. This world-class and expansive archaeological museum houses an impressive collection of Khmer artifacts, including countless Buddha images and Hindu religious icons that reflect the grandeur of Angkor’s cultural heritage.
The museum’s layout is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to follow and explore at our own pace. We spent almost three hours immersing ourselves in the galleries, and I’d highly recommend taking the audio tour — it adds so much depth and context to the displays.
The admission ticket was reasonably priced at around RM50+, and it felt more than worth it considering the scale and quality of the exhibits.
For those planning a visit, here are the operating hours:
▶️ 1 Apr – 30 Sep: 08:30 – 18:00.
▶️ 1 Oct – 31 Mar: 08:30 – 18:30.
Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Siem Reap for anyone wanting to gain a deeper understanding of Angkor’s history before exploring the temples themselves.
