The most common breakfast choice in Singapore

Many think Ya Kun is only for tourists, but after talking with local friends, it turns out they often eat Ya Kun too, mostly for breakfast.

This time, I had Ya Kun with a local friend at the Suntec City branch. This brand’s kaya toast needs no introduction—crispy toast, a big slab of butter, and a generous spread of kaya jam make it delicious.

Singapore’s Running Egg, mixed with the right amount of soy sauce and pepper, stirred well, and tasted. Half-cooked eggs are always tasty. The tuna sandwich is also toasted, packed full of filling, with a bit of lettuce for garnish—a simple breakfast.

The local weather is always perfect for cold drinks, so have a cup of iced coffee to wake up!
