A paradise in the city where nature and animals harmonize, Singapore Zoo
If you want to feel nature and have a special experience during your trip to Singapore, I definitely recommend the Singapore Zoo. This world-renowned zoo is more than just a place to 'view' animals; it is a unique space where animals and nature coexist. It was so much fun!
1. Open space set in nature
Unlike typical zoos, Singapore Zoo operates on an **'open concept' using natural terrain instead of fences or cages**. Rivers, cliffs, and trees are used to naturally separate animals and people, giving you the feeling of encountering animals right in the middle of the jungle.
2. Encounters with a variety of animals
There are about 300 species and over 2,800 animals living here. From popular white tigers, orangutans, giraffes, and elephants to rare species, the variety is amazing. Especially the orangutans, which are part of a well-established global conservation program, can be seen living naturally up in the trees up close.
3. Operating hours & ticket information
Operating hours: Daily 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (last admission at 5:00 PM)
Location: 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore
Tickets: Approximately SGD 48 for adults / SGD 33 for children
4. Visiting tips
Sunscreen, hats, and water are essential due to strong sunlight!
Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking
Animals are more active if you go early in the morning
