If you are planning to visit the temples in Singapore, you can consider staying at the Mercure icon city centre hotel. It is directly connected to the telok Ayer train station. From the hotel, you can take a six minute walk towards the thian hock temple as well as other nearby Malay and Indian temples. The location is definitely very good. You can also take a few stations to Chinatown to have a walk there.
