Visiting Kylemore Abbey was like stepping into a fairytale with a twist of history. Built in 1860 by Mitchell Henry as a romantic gift for his wife, the castle itself is breathtaking. Wandering the estate, I admired its stunning architecture and peaceful gardens, each corner carrying echoes of the past. Learning how it passed from the heartbroken Henry to the Duke of Manchester, and finally to the Benedictine Nuns fleeing Belgium during WW1, made the visit even more fascinating. Today, the abbey stands as a spiritual and wellness centre, blending beauty, history, and serenity—a truly unforgettable stop in Ireland.
